Rascal Flatts will come to Dallas in support of their 2017 album, Back to Us. They'll be joined by Dan + Shay when they hit the stage at Dos Equis Pavilion on Saturday, August 25.
As it is, the band’s members Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney are accomplished songsmiths in their own right, having penned a number of their hits themselves. But they have also been blessed along the way with material from many other top songwriters, a fact they recognized in 2010 when they marked 10 years of success with a party in Nashville for everybody who had written songs for their first six studio albums.
“We just wanted to say thank you,” LeVox told The Tennessean at the time. “We don’t just have professional relationships with these cats. We have personal relationships with them, too.”
By that point in their career the band had already clocked up nine Billboard Hot Country Songs No. 1 hits and five No.1 albums, while these tallies swelled even further over the next decade.
Although LeVox and DeMarcus are cousins and both grew up in Columbus, Ohio, they initially pursued their own musical paths with Demarcus heading off to Nashville and LeVox staying back home where he enjoyed success with a Christian music group. However, he eventually relocated to Nashville, too, and the cousins ended up playing together and ultimately asked Don Rooney to join them.
There was then a three-year wait until the group’s next regular studio album (the gap partially broken up by the festive release The Greatest Gift Of All) with Back To Us appearing in May 2017. Debuting at No. 2 on Top Country Albums, it mixed new songs by a number of top Nashville writers as well as contributions from the group, including the duet “Are You Happy Now” with Lauren Alaina. Now, they are back on the road to promote that album in Dallas at the Dos Equis Pavilion!
