Get a Glimpse of the Woman Behind the British Crown During The Audience

Since the beginning, Amphibian Stage Productions has strived to produce innovative and engaging theater that inspires new ideas, opens new doors, and increases our understanding of the vast world around us. This season, Amphibian Stage Productions will present “The Audience”.

“The Audience” is a play by the British playwright and screenwriter Peter Morgan. The play centers on weekly meetings, called audiences, between Queen Elizabeth II and her prime ministers. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II has met with each of her 12 Prime Ministers in a private weekly meeting. No one knows what they discuss, not even their spouses.

From the old warrior Winston Churchill, to the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair right up to today's meetings with the current incumbent David Cameron, the Queen advises her Prime Ministers on all matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Nominated for three Tony Awards, The Audience sees Helen Mirren reprise her Olivier Award-winning performance as Queen Elizabeth II, following her Academy Award win for the same role The Queen. General admission is $20 and may be purchased at 817-923-3012 or boxoffice@amphibianstage.com. Don’t miss out!

At Oxford at Lake Worth Apartments in Fort Worth, Texas, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
